<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>In the proposed study, the authors consider the image of migrants constructed in the media and its characteristics during the COVID-19 pandemic. The article examines the theoretical and practical development of the image of migrants in the media (negative and positive aspects of the image) and reveals the impact of the new pandemic on the image of immigrants in the media. The authors aim to determine the transformation of the negative image of labor migrants in the news of news agencies in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic by conducting a quantitative content analysis of publications of news agencies related to coverage of immigration topics. The authors conclude that in the context of unforeseen and crisis situations, the stigmatization of migrants, who are previously a stereotyped group, in the electronic media increases. The methodology of this work is based on the constructivist paradigm of T. Berger and T. Lukman.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>трудовые мигранты</kwd><kwd>информационные агентства</kwd><kwd>медиа-дискурс</kwd><kwd>негативный образ</kwd><kwd>национальная политика</kwd><kwd>пандемия COVID-19</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>migrant workers</kwd><kwd>news agencies</kwd><kwd>media discourse</kwd><kwd>negative image</kwd><kwd>national policy</kwd><kwd>pandemic COVID-19</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Аблажей Н.
