The test of thermonuclear weapons at the Semipalatinsk nuclear test site and the awareness of the population what's happening
Abstract
The successful testing of thermonuclear weapons at the Semipalatinsk nuclear test site in the 50s of the last century made it possible to fnally establish parity in the nuclear confrontation between the USSR and the United States. From a historical point of view, the connection between the tests of thermonuclear weapons that were carried out at the Semipalatinsk nuclear test site and the refection of this in the minds of the population living next to the test site is interesting. As a result of the work carried out by the method of superimposing historical facts, memories of testers, scientists on the one hand and unwitting participants on the other, the unity of aspirations about strengthening the power of the state and the desire for further peaceful life is revealed. Field of application: history, sociology, patriotism, military construction, medicine. Analyzing the past events, we can say that the creation of the country's nuclear shield in the diffcult post-war years was at the same time a powerful lever for the education of patriotism.
